There are plans to establish in Miramichi, a Biathlon group, both as a recreational and competitive sport. Initially competitive air rifles would be used and if there is sustained and sufficient interest it would evolve to using .22's with a proper range. For more information on Biathlon see:

This is an open invitation to all interested youth and adults to participate in this exciting all season sport. For youth, parents and potential trainers / coaches there will be an information session Saturday April 19th 09:00 to 12:00. The cost of the session is covered, there will be membership applications for BiathlonNB and BiathlonCanada available, $25 fee.
